Hesquiaht Descendants's Basketball
Donation protected
This will be the very first time ever a Hesquiaht Women's team will compete at the prestigious BC-All Native Basketball Tournament. This is one of the largest First Nations gatherings in the country drawing together thousands of people from all accross the province and Alaska as well. This is not only a high end sporting event, it is also a cultural gathering.
Our goals as a team are the following: Hesquiaht unity, sportsmanship, representing Hesquiaht in a proud and respectful way, competing at a high level of play, and healthy living.
In the early 60's a tidal wave washed away our entire village in Hot Springs Cove forcing many of our members to move away. Many of our members never returned. This team was created to help bring unity back to our people.
We are very excited to represent Hesquiaht at the BC-All Native Basketball Championships and thank each and every person for supporting us!
