Thanksgiving Trip to Standing Rock

Donation protected
For months I have been feeling "the pull" to find a way to help support the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota.  I tossed around the idea of flying out there to join in the protest but wasn't sure if that was really the best way to try and make a difference.  Today an awesome and very kind new friend of mine asked me if I would be interested in driving out with him and another amazing soul to deliver some much needed supplies to the protesters, aka; water protectors.

I can't imagine a more spiritually fulfilling way to spend Thanksgiving week than driving a caravan of supplies out to these brave people (Indians... I know, not pc but I love that word) who are trying so desperately to keep their water safe.  Seriously... they just want to have safe clean drinking water. We all know the torturously inhumane past our Native American friends have had to endure, (I won't even go there) the fact that this is even happening is unfathomable, but it is and there is no end in sight...

In order to make this a truly successful trip I am going to need some help from my friends and family.  I am hoping to raise $1000 but reaching that amount is not a deal breaker, I am going no matter what. I would like to raise enough money to cover a rental vehicle, a trailer if needed and fuel, it's a long ass ride! For those of you who can donate financially, awesome... any amount is appreciated.  If you can donate supplies, equally as awesome.  Here is a list of the supplies they are in need of.
Be mindful that it is extremely cold and the supplies need to be designed for extreme temperatures.

Tents
Sleeping Bags
Blankets
Winter Jackets
Canned Food
Safety Glasses
Hats
Gloves
Wool Socks
Sweaters
Lowe's or Verizon Gift Cards
Heavy Duty Canvas
Heavy Duty Tarps or Storage Bins
Insulated CarHartt types of coveralls, coats

I am sure there are more items they can use that I am not including.  I got the list online from their website.  I would bet we could chuck in some cool small kid toys/items also. Items can be dropped off at my house and I would be more than happy to pick them up also.

I plan on documenting the entire trip via Facebook with videos as well as some Facebook live feeds.  I've never tried that but I think it will be cool for everyone to be able to be a part of this amazing journey.

Peace my friends and thanks...
