Help support "the Face of Brooksville Fire Rescue" get her job back.

Hillary Sanford has proudly served the city of Brooksville for 11 years.  Hillary started as a Reserve Firefighter and worked her way up through the rank and file to becoming a Captain. She is the first female to become a Driver Engineer and Fire Captain in the history of Brooksville Fire Rescue.

She has not only provided Fire and EMS service to the community ;but has also created the very first "Fire and Life Safety Program" for the citizens of the city. Hillary has developed the first "Fire House Birthday Party Program". This allows the community to hold their special day at the fire station with the fire personnel. Hillary is also responsible for  creating the first "Pre Fire Plan Program" for all commercial businesses in Brooksville. It is clear to see her passion and dedication to the community and their safety... Now it is time to help her!

On April 6th, 2016 the City of Brooksville wrongfully terminated Captain Sanford for obtaining a Refusal of Care  form from a patient refusing medical treatment and transport on an EMS call. Hillary followed the medical protocol her license dictates and the direction of the Medical Director that oversees the departments EMS services and licenses. Hillary has appealed to the Brooksville City Manager to overturn her termination. The City Manager has upheld her decision to terminate Captain Sanford.

We are looking for financial support for Hillary as we move towards the Arbitration process. We need assistance for the legal fees associated with this costly and lengthy process. Pease help this young, passionate, motivated, courageous, and caring young women get her job back and get back to doing what she loves... Serving her community. She is a valuable resource we can not afford to lose.  Hillary is set to be the first from Brooksville, and 1 of only 10 women across the nation, to graduate from the "Managing Officer Program" through the National Fire Academy  in January of 2017. In order to graduate from the program, Hillary needs to be employed by a Fire Department.

Hillary was preparing in June to become the next District Chief of Brooksville. Fire Rescue and eventually the first female Chief. Please show your support for the hard work this young lady has put in, and example she has given to our community has to what passion, dedication, and professionalism is all about.

Any additional funds left over will be donated to a charity of Hillary's choicing.
