Prayers for A Happily Ever After for our fur baby Leo, he is much deserving of a happy healthy life!
Hello this is Amie speaking on behalf of Leo our adopted rescue puppy.
He has had a few medical issues since we have had him. He had Giardia and was severely sick for a few months and was on a few rounds of antibiotics To help treat it. He was malnutritioned from the Giardia and from that we believed developed the hip dysplasia. He was diagnosed with hip dysplasia a few months ago and had X-rays of his right hip and was told it's in poor condition. We have been giving him supplements (cosequin, omega 3 & anti inflammatory) and keeping him on a lean diet and also giving him pain medication for relief. He is no longer the happy puppy he was and now wants to just lay around in his orthopedic bed. He whines and cries all the time due to his pain and discomfort. It's now come to the point where we have to make a decision to either have him Euthanized, a Total Hip Replacement (8,000) or Femoral Head Ostectomy (hip surgery 2,000).
We talked to the vet and all believe if he gets the Femoral Head Ostectomy which is where they will cut the ball part of his ball and socket joint that he will have instant pain relief from where his bones are now currently touching and causing his pain.
He is a wonderful and loving puppy and has such a long life he could live and enjoy and he would much appreciate any donations to help make this happen for a pain free life.
Much love Leo and his family
