Shelley Strong
Donation protected
On Saturday, August 24th while doing work on the outside of the house, Shelley was involved in a fall that left her needing emergency brain surgery and a stay in the Trauma ICU at ECMC. After a few long and stressful days, she is now breathing on her own and following simple commands. While her journey has shown her immense strength and determination to recover, there is a long road ahead of her. Even though she has exceeded many of the doctor's expectations thus far, she will not be leaving the hospital for some time and will require reconstructive surgeries on her face and skull to repair damages sustained from the fall. She will also need assistance once she returns home and will not be able to return to work as a School Bus Driver, a job she enjoys in her retirement after 25 years as a prison guard at Gowanda Correctional Facility.
In efforts to pay for medical expenses that will ensure she gets the care she desperately needs during this critical time, her family asks for donations that will assist them in paying for the growing costs.
Thank you to everyone for your love and kindness during this difficult time. We hope and pray that Shelley will make a speedy recovery and can continue being the witty and selfless mother, sister, grammie and friend that we all know and love.
Sincerely,
Her daughter Maddie and sons Thomas and Matthew
