Hockey: A Game for All
Donation protected
My name is Steven Niemann and over the past few years I have had the chance to play hockey with some of the most amazing people who have impacted my life in ways I never thought was possible.
This page is help raise money for a documentary about the American Special Hockey Association (ASHA) and the benefits that it can have on one’s life.
The video above is just a quick little look into the project.
The working title is “Hockey: A Game for All” and every dollar that is raised for making this project will go towards paying for crew, equipment, travel, post production, and for the future distribution of the final product.
I’ve set my goal at $20,000 and would love to see that number be hit and surpassed by Summer 2017. Every dollar that is left over will be donated to ASHA affiliated programs.
I have created many memories I will never forget and stories that I love to share with everyone. The smiles you get to see on a players face when they score a goal has been permanently etched into my brain. Not only have I been able to create lasting memories but so many other people have too, not only players but parents and the individuals who volunteer their time with all the teams around the country. During the filming of this project I plan to talk and interview as many of these people that I possibly can to hear their stories. These are stories that should be shared with the world, and this association is one that more people should know about. It truly is a family feeling you have while you are at games and tournaments during the course of the season.
The Association was created in 2000 for players with developmental disabilities. The American Special Hockey Association (ASHA) gives people of all ages and abilities a chance to learn and grow by playing hockey. There are currently over 50 ASHA programs in more than 30 cities throughout the United States. This is a place where every player is a star.
