New Hold For Swank Pop Rock Album

Donation protected
Our story begins nearly 15 years ago, when Eric's moping around the campus of Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, caught Max's attention. "What's got you down, friend?" Max inquired. "I need a bassist," Eric replied. "I play bass!" Max exclaimed. And the rest is history. History that shall be recounted right here in this next sentence.

Four drummers, three studios, two albums and one unfinished trilogy later, Hold For Swank needs your help.

With a new album's worth of material in our back pockets, we're ready to record a slew of new tracks for you. More so, we're ready - with Razz pounding the drums and Jason shredding the guitar - to hit the studio as a foursome for the first time to record a proper full-length album. What we're asking for is help raising money to cover:

* recording (tracking, engineering, producing)
* mixing (making those individual tracks sound great)
* mastering (making the whole album sound awesome)

and, for the people who donate enough to earn these rewards:

* CD manufacturing (we still love unwrapping these things)
* new logo T-shirts (sport yours soon!)

The sooner we get these funds, the sooner we can head into a great Des Moines-area studio with a great Des Moines-area producer and engineer who will stretch us to our musical limits. And the sooner we can create the rewards. And the sooner you'll have all new, Weezer-and-Alkaline-Trio-and-Huey-Lewis-inspired music about love, hate, awkwardness and "Ghostbusters" in your possession. We're shooting for year-end 2016, because this is the 10th anniversary of our first album. We're overdue. So are you.

Want to see and hear an acoustic version of one of the new songs? Check this out.

To summarize: The first two Hold For Swank albums came from places of young love, confusion, and maybe even a hint of anger. This third album will round out the story with songs of understanding and even penance. Max and Eric couldn't be more thrilled to have Razz and Jason in this band. This foursome can write a song that knocks your socks off. Now, we want to record those sock-knockers and get them in your hands. We think you'll like them as much as we do.

NOTE ABOUT T-SHIRTS: We're offering them in four different color schemes:

* black shirt with white ink
* gold shirt with black ink
* gold shirt with red ink
* gold shirt with purple ink

We're offering them in the unisex cut as well as the women's cut. And we're offering them in sized S to 3XL. (S to 2XL get the soft-type shirts.) So if you donate $25 or more, shoot an email to [email redacted] and let us know your size, cut and color scheme.

NOTE ABOUT YOUR SONG: If you donate $50 or more, we'll write a song just for you about any ex of your choice. Seriously. It's all we ever write songs about, anyway. The information we need to help us write this song includes:

* their name, if you want to (at least their gender)
* why you broke up
* any funny or tragic story behind the break-up
* if you'd rather get back together... or not
* and just any other funny anecdote for our inspiration

With that information, we can custom-write a song for you, which we'll record and post online for you to share. More details as songs are written.

Thank you for your consideration!
