NCCI Homecoming Fund
Tax deductible
The North Country Center for Independence is raising money to help people with disabilities make the transition from nursing homes and other institutions into their own homes.
When disabled people leave a hospital or institutional setting and set up their own homes, they often have difficulty getting start-up supplies, such as:
Furniture
Kitchen utensils and appliances
Bed and bath supplies
Start-up groceries
While funding is often available for ongoing personal care and support services, these one-time, start-up expenses can be significant barriers. The Homecoming Fund enables us to obtain and store there kinds of supplies until they are needed ... some purchased, some donated. In-kind donations are of course welcomed, but monetary donations give us the ability to properly store donated items, and the flexibility to make specific purchases to meet each person's unique needs, including needs that are specific to certain kinds of disabilities.
Your GoFundMe donation will help your neighbors with disabilities make successful transitions to more independent and fully integrated lives in our community.
The Mission of the North Country Center for Independence is to empower people with disabilities to live more independent and productive lives, and to promote beneficial policies and community understanding of disability issues. NCCI serves people with disabilities, families, and the community on issues and needs related to physical or mental disabilities of any kind. NCCI is governed and staffed mainly by people with disabilities, serving Clinton and Essex Counties, New York.
