Home-Going for Dewayne Townsend
Donation protected
Unfortunately, on September 5, 2018, our brother Dewayne Townsend was tragically taken from us by a senseless criminal act of violence. He was reportedly shot in the chest and hit by a vehicle in NE Oklahoma City. His body was lying face down in the middle of the road and struck by several vehicles. It is unclear how long he was out there alone fighting for his life. It was later learned that he was shot before being struck by a vehicle.
Dewayne was a father, son, uncle, he loved people. He was giving, kindhearted, he was God fearing , he was witty, love to joke, but fearless.
He devoted his time to the Salvation Army as a volunteer in the community for years during the holidays. He was brought up in the church and had a relationship with the Lord. and never lost his faith.
He survived other near tragic death experiences and death has knocked on his door many times before, but Dewayne was able to fight back every time.
He leaves to mourn a mother, three sisters, one brother, one son and two daughters as well as aunts, uncles and a host of family and friends.
He was not perfect, but perfectly imperfect in our eyes and we loved him. We are asking for donations to help with funeral arrangements, services, and other related expenses.
