"TRI for Homes"Ironman 70.3 Ecuador

On April 16, 2016, my home country of Ecuador was devastated by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. The disaster wrecked entire communities, killing hundreds and leaving over 25,000 injured and homeless. Upon hearing about this devastation, I launched the Aid for Ecuador campaign to help during the crisis. Through this campaign, we raised $100,000 to help small business owners rebuild their enterprises, families, and communities.
A year later the disaster has faded from the world’s headlines, but a major issue remains. Hundreds of families are still homeless, living out of tents, without the safety and security of a home. Left with little hope of the situation changing, they face the continuing reality of homelessness every day.
In response to this need, I am launching the "TRI for Homes" campaign to build 40 homes for families left homeless by the earthquake in partnership with the local Rotary Club, Club Rotario de Quito Latitud Cero. Ground has already been broken and construction is underway, but there is still a critical need for an additional $117,000 to fund the remainder of the project.
This project is so close to my heart because homes are so central to a family’s security, dignity, and future. On July 30, 2017, I’m competing in the Ironman 70.3 in Manta, Ecuador. I have 117,000 reason to swim, bike, and run and your sponsorship would mean the world to me. All proceeds will go to the “Villa de la Alegria” project.
Help me restore hope and security to families left homeless after the 2016 Ecuadorian earthquake. Together we will build the “Villa de la Alegría,” the “Village of Happiness.” Please donate and help transform lives today!
