Homeschoolers Clean Kamilo Beach
Donation protected
Aloha friends! Our homeschool community is organzing a beach clean-up at Kamilo Beach, here on the southern end of the Big Island, on June 4, 2017, and we need your help! This beach is one that sees a lot of plastic debris being washed up from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The photo is of this beach and was taken by Erik Anderson, on a previous clean-up. Due to the remote location of this beach, getting out there and bringing the debris back is difficult. All money raised through this platform will go toward the following:
-All supplies needed in the effort, i.e., buckets, gloves, first-aid kits, water for volunteers, etc.
-Truck rentals-because of the terrain that must be crossed to get to this beach, special vehicles are needed. Money raised would help cover the costs needed to rent a few 4x4 trucks and help pay for fuel.
-Any permits needed that allow us to drive the vehicles along the coastline.
All donations need to be recieved no later than May 21, 2017.
We wish to extend to you our deepest gratitude in helping our efforts to clean our beaches.
