My name is Alexis Ferguson, I am a senior at Middletown High School and serve as a Cadet Major in the MHS AFJROTC and Senior Airman in the Middletown Civil Air Patrol Squadron. For my senior project, I wanted to pursue something that would benefit my community and recognize our military personnel.
Our local VFW Post 3792 - St. William Lloyd Nelson is in need of an electronic sign for their organization. For many decades, our local heroes have been climbing a ladder on both sides of the existing sign to promote events and share information with the community. An electronic sign would provide them with the opportunity to promote their events and celebrations of community members in a safe and user friendly way. Electronic signs are very costly and as a non-profit organization it was something they have been trying to pursue for over a decade. Assisting them in coordinating this project will not only provide them with a technological advance for their organization, it will also allow me to pay it forward as a sign of gratitude for those who have served our country and paved the way for me to eventually do the same. Any donation is welcome and appreciated more than you know.
In addition to the online fundraising campaign that will run through 2/15, we will also be hosting a Hometown Heroes Dinner on 2/11 at the VFW from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm. For more information on the dinner, please contact me at [email redacted].
