Honoring Jeffrey "Floyd" Dennis
Donation protected
On August 20th shortly after 4pm the life of Jeffrey "Floyd Greatah" Dennis was tragically and senselessly taken by an officer of the Philadelphia police department. Floyd was unarmed and non-violent. With absolutely no warning he was boxed in by unmarked cars and surrounded by plainclothes officers. The Philadelphia police commissioner is concerned by the tactics of the officers and is questioning why Floyd was shot three times, the death blow being a head shot.
The news has been twisting the events of what happened and will continue to do so to fit their narrative, but we know what type of man Floyd was. He was strong in his beliefs and character. He was a family man who put his children above everyone else. He was a fiance who knew how to treat his lady like the queen she is and he was a fierce and loyal friend.
Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of such a wonderful man. Never in a million years did we think we would be facing what so many others in this country have gone through, but here we are, grieving the life of a black man that we called dad, friend, fiance, brother, and son.
Just a few days ago, Mimi and Floyd were planning their destination wedding, throwing ideas around about Cuba and Punta Cana. Now, Mimi is planning Floyd's funeral. It goes without saying that her world has been shattered into a million pieces. Her and Floyd were supposed to grow old together and now, she is left with the hard truth that her would-be husband will not see his 37th birthday.
We ask that you please consider helping by giving money so the family can focus on what will be an exhaustive and long investigation of Floyd's murder, and hopefully start the process of healing from their tragic loss.
We thank you in advance for your contributions.
