Honoring Robin Mittenthal

Donation protected
Robin Mittenthal had a rare gift for connecting to other people.   He gave us his time, his undivided attention, his radiant smile, his stories that spanned an unbelievable repertoire of life experiences, his infectious enthusiasm, his thanks and his encouragement.  In so doing, he touched lives of countless colleagues in Entomology and CALS, of hundreds of undergraduate advisees in the Global Health certificate, and of the students, staff and colleagues in and surrounding a new center on campus for mosquito and tick-borne disease.  Beyond the University, and among other things, Robin had been a young adult librarian, served as the leader for the Eagle Heights Community garden, volunteered to maintain the prairie and gardens at Midvale Elementary, and was launching a berry-picking farm in Belleville.  Along the way, he touched lives and made friends at many junctions through every one of those endeavors.

His impact radiated far and wide, and many people have asked what we can do to give back to Robin.  At the request of his family, and in perfect service to Robin's greatest driving forces, we have started this GoFundMe campaign to contribute to the education savings accounts for Robin and Daniella's two kids.  All of the proceeds of this campaign will go to savings accounts that Robin established for Costa and Lia.
