Hope in the Darkness 2018

Donation protected
Hope in the Darkness Walk for Youth Mental Health is a cross-country walk beginning on April 1, 2018 from both Canadian coasts. The walk will bring police officers and youth together to create awareness about youth mental health while promoting a message of hope and empowerment.

Hope in the Darkness Founder Kevin Redsky, personally has lived the struggle with mental health as a youth and has experienced the loss of youth members in his family.   Working with youth at risk and missing person cases, Kevin is compelled to take a stand on youth mental health by showing young people that we all can take action, provide support and show love.

The walk will provide police officers an opportunity to meet with youth and listen to their stories along the way. Communities will have the opportunity to support youth, families and frontline workers by joining in the walk and supporting youth participation.

Funds raised will support the associated costs of the west coast and east coast routes of the walk including transportation, fuel, accommodations, meals and youth programming.

The walk begins on April 1st from the east coast, with the west coast beginning on May 15th, two groups o f officers will begin walking toward the centre of Canada, Winnipeg.
