Highland Park Fire Needs A Ladder
Donation protected
On March 8, 2017 a very strong wind storm with wind speeds recorded over 60 mph beat up the metro Detroit area. Winds ripped trees from the grown, blew power lines off the poles and started over 70 fires in the Metro Detroit area (Detroit, Highland Park and hamtramck). On its way back to the station from a call the engine caught on fire and quickly spread to the cab of the truck. It looks like it's going to be a total loss. Many ask what about insurance, insurance is working to determine what if any will be covered. But even in the event it is covered the insurance will only pay out the depreciated value of the truck which won't be enough to purchase a new one. As some may not know Highland Park is a city surrounded on all sides by Detroit. The Highland Park fire department provides mutual aid to the city of Detroit (and vice versa) as well as Hamtramck. The city of Highland Park is home to many tall apartment buildings and is dependent on its ladder truck to rescue and protect its residents. This piece of equipment is critical to the city of Highland Park and its residents who call it home. The city of Highland Park thanks you for your help even it all you can do is share this page.
