THE DREAM OF A HEADQUARTERS
I’m Ed Adkins and along with my wife Heidi, we run Crawl Reno, the organizers of the Reno Zombie Crawl and other large scale annual bar crawls in Reno, NV. For the last several years we’ve been working toward opening our own bar in downtown in order to serve Reno’s citizens and show off our nightlife to out of town guests all year long


From its inception, HQ was envisioned as a quirky party bar where every single person, no matter who they are can feel a part of things. You’ll find little jokes hidden throughout our decor and you might see your picture on the wall with hundreds of crawl photos. It’s also meant to entice visitors from out of town to come see a band playing with a big Reno skyline backdrop behind them, and we’ll even have a map of all the rest of downtown’s hot spots so we can help them plan their weekend here.


In order to be the “boozy visitor’s center” we’ve planned, we need to get things here finished by our grand opening in January, and we can’t do it without help. In return, we want to make you a permanent part of Headquarters Bar, a very special place which will house the joy and energy of our events all year, with a welcoming vibe and a hell of a sense of humor.

WHY WE NEED HELP
Since beginning this project in April, we’ve run into several bumps that pushed our opening later and required more repairs once we dug in. Among them, our walk-in cooler wasn’t operational, our sprinkler system had unexpected issues and renovations to the bar area cost double what we had originally estimated. Taking care of these things has put us in the position where our bar can’t make it without some assistance from the community.


Here's the list of what we need to accomplish:

You'd think we'd have those, right? We ended up having to put a bunch of money into getting our coolers working first. Right now we have a temporary solution for two taps but we need the correct setup.

Some of our needed upgrades exceeded our estimates once they were finished and if we don't get them settled by midnight our contractors are going to kidnap our mothers. No, but seriously we need to take care of those guys b/c they're making our place look amazing.

Hundreds of crawl photos commemorating 10 years of memories. When you see one you're in we'll take it down so you can sign it!

Our dancefloor and bar need some proper lighting to encourage folks to let loose and provide the right atmosphere.

We have a hilarious set of 6 pieces we are preparing that will make you laugh and give a special history to the bar. The historical society is going to lose it though.

Since HQ is a tribute to how amazing Reno's nightlife is, our stage will be framed by a huge backdrop of the city. This is also an essential part of dampening sound so that bands and DJs sound amazing.

Want to play Super Mario on a 20 foot screen or watch cartoons so tall you can't handle it? We're building our own massive screen for that.

WHY THIS IS SO IMPORTANT TO US
We’ve put everything we have into this, and we can’t wait to be fully ready. Over the years of organizing our bar crawls, our greatest joy has been seeing the personal connections people make to the events and with each other during them.

We receive messages and letters from people who met their spouse on a crawl or created memories that changed their lives. We want to have a spot to make people feel accepted and welcome, and allow them to create those connections every day.

For seventy-five bucks, you become an official founder, and your name will be on a plaque inside HQ FOREVER! Plus you get 2 cups to the crawl of your choice and all the rewards listed above.

If you give one hundred dollars, not only will you get all the rewards listed above, but you'll also get 2 crawl cups to every single event we put on next year!

Five hundred dollars? Well, that gets you into the super founders. You'll be invited into a special group where you'll get invites to private HQ parties, you'll get discounted drinks at HQ FOREVER, AND you'll get your face on one of the bottles of booze behind the bar.
