We are two brothers that love archery! We shoot Olympic Recurve, and started shooting about 10 years ago. We shot at that time for 2 or 3 years but didn’t know about the different opportunities, clubs and tournaments.
We continued to shoot now and then. The passion never ceased!
About three years ago, Ethan started to assist with teaching archery. He taught archery to all ages from adults (he loves the Active Adults) to children. He loved shooting with them! After about a year, our Mom, told Ethan, lets find out if there's more you can pursue with archery. Henry loved the chance to get involved. That was when we found the JOAD program for Ethan. We love archery, love learning all about archery and are constantly improving!
Ethan and our Mom went to a local professional archery dealer, where, by chance, we met everyone in that one night that would help launch the next chapter of our archery life. Our goal is the Olympics!
Ethan has advanced in the JOAD program and just obtained his Bronze Olympian Pin, as well as earning state indoor champion, for the second year and overall highest recurve male in the state.
In archery there are equipment costs, tournament fees, training, and travel costs associated with traveling to tournaments. Equipment needs to be upgraded as we grow in strength and stature. Both of us are over 6' tall and should have a 27" riser. These are harder to find and start at $700. Stronger bows require new arrows that match the force of the bow. Our parents have taken care of most all expenses, and we have helped. But there is so much more!
Our goal is to compete in the Olympics, and realize we have a lot of practice ahead of us and need to "throw" a lot of arrows down range. Ethan practices most days for 2-3 hours, Henry a few times a week.
Your help in getting us to the Olympics would be greatly appreciated!
