Help Anguilla (Hurricane Irma)

What Happened?

Our little unflustered island of Anguilla is under siege from the strongest and most catastrophic hurricane to date - Category 5 Hurricane Irma. The effects of this hurricane whose fury exceeded that of Hurricane Katrina (Category 3 - the 3rd deadliest hurricane in US history) has sent Anguilla into a complete state of emergency.

Who are we?

We are a group of locals from Anguilla raising awareness and funds for other locals and infrastructure severely hit by Hurricane Irma.

Our Relationship to Anguilla & Where the funds will go? 

We embarked on our goal of 100k directed to what we felt were some of the biggest necessities; healthcare and housing. Growing up on Anguilla, and watching the hospitals which nurtured us floored, and the village houses completely destroyed by Hurricane Irma was unimaginable. It set us on the mission of raising funds to aid in their restoration. As soon as communication to the institutions is possible again, we will allocate the raised funds to the directors of the entities to aid in the reparations.  The funds will be audited by BDO International, who has volunteered to  monitor how the money is spent. 

How will funds be spent?

Once the funds are allocated to the directors of the institutions, the funds will be spent on the rebuilding and refurbishing of Anguilla's only hospital and the assistance of restoring local homes based on the severity of the damage (i.e, completely destroyed homes, missing roofs, etc). 

This Go-Fund-Me page is urging assistance for any Hurricane Irma Relief Efforts including the funding of critical supplies, care supplies, construction and food supplies. Your donation will aid in the restoration and re-development of the Caribbean island of Anguilla.
