Hurricane Michael Emergency Relief
Donation protected
PSL Florida – spearheaded by our Pensacola and Tallahassee chapters – are organizing to provide emergency relief aid to devastated working class communities across the Panhandle in the wake of Hurricane Michael.
Already, thanks to the immense generosity of our community and the tireless efforts of our comrades, we have helped deliver hundreds of pounds of crucial supplies to affected areas such as Panama City, Quincy and Blountstown. However, the damage is absolutely tremendous and we will need support to continue our relief efforts for many months to come.
Your donation will go towards emergency supplies such as water, food, tarps, diapers, gas, menstrual products, dry shampoo and more. Furthermore, we hope to utilize this fund to support more long-term relief efforts such as rebuilding houses and infrastructure.
Some of the counties we’re working in have the highest poverty rates in the state as well as large numbers of undocumented workers. Border Patrol has been spotted patrolling multiple cities, forcing many undocumented folks and other immigrants to find alternative sources of supplies than federal or state relief agencies (at least, in the counties that have actually seen these relief agencies) rather than risk arrest, detention or deportation.
Please donate what you can to help those who can get their boots on the ground best support our most vulnerable communities!
