It has been a hellish past 5 years and being a medically retired veteran is not easy either. I would like to be able to have my car working again. However, I absolutely need to be able to get to my VA appointments as well to get to work. And help some of the other veterans I know that need to get to the VA. In short this will benefit me and my 2 pups, but also other Veterans.
Having my car fixed will make it possible for me to go to my part time job at the Habitat for Humanity, helping others. It will also allow me to help other vets by transporting them what they need. This is not for joy, this is so that I can get things to what they need to be so that I can better help others as well. I also would not be asking if the transportation to the VA was not so bad, not to mention they try to have me go to Denver for who knows what. There are many veterans out here in the same situation and I do what I can to help them, this will help make that happen.
I love driving, it is an ability to do the things a person needs to do, sadly I lack that currently. Yes my PTSD and my knee injury make it hard, sometime super hard and painful.I need this so that I have the ability to get to the appointments I need to get to, as well as helping others like myself. Last April 1st the engine on the car I just got blew up, so the funds will be for fixing that issue and get the only thing I have working again, and from that will be joy to be had to once again be able to have the ability to work and go to my appointments.
The goal here is to get the car fixed that will take $ 8,000.00 this would allow myself as well as those that I help to live a better life as well as get to the places we need to go to make that happen.
When do I need the funds? Whenever I can, the sooner the better but it is hard to put a time frame on something like this so I think it will be fair to say mid next year.
I would be forever thankful, but that is even a bit of an understatement. I do not have much to offer in return, the only thing I can offer is that you are helping a veteran and his service dog.
