Help Pay My Tuition to The Black UpStart Bootcamp

Out of over 100 applicants, I was selected along with 20 African-American entrepreneurs to join the Black upstart Bootcamp. This Bootcamp is for aspiring entrepreneurs who seek to start successful and profitable businesses. As you may know, I’ve always wanted to create my own enterprise that would enable me to serve others! Through enrolling in this Bootcamp, I will learn how to brainstorm a viable business idea, build a product, test the product and create a plan to sell that product for profit. My goal is to not only introduce a great product on the market, but to employ others and hopefully myself!

The product:
The First Lady of the United States, Michele Obama, has made great strides with her "Lets Move"  initiative creating a platform that gives guidance on many healthy subjects from diet to physical activity for children. I believe like many of you do that children should have access to safe clean places to play and exercise. The Pew Research Center has estimated that 70% of African-American and Latino-Americans use their cell phones for their entire Internet experience. That's why I have created a mobile web application that gives the location of all public basketball courts in the city, along with the name, turn by turn directions for walking, biking, driving, and even using public transportation right from the palm of your hand. Many of these basketball courts are deemed "Safe Places" by the local Department of Parks and Recreation.

Now within the easy use of your cell phone you can find a public basketball court get the best turn by turn directions to your destination and with future versions I will be adding SMS text invites so that you can invite your friends for a 2-on-2 or 3-on-3 game all using the application! This is an opportunity to not only help The First Lady fulfill her "Lets Move" goals but to also provide our children and community with an easy platform to be active!

Here is my goal: Get 20 People to Donate $25 (or more before Bootcamp begins on August 25. 2016

I’ve searched for programs like this that would address the issues that African-American entrepreneurs face starting a business and raising capital, and I believe I’ve found it. The Black UpStart will not only teach me how to identify an unmet need, but also how to capitalize on it for my community. I need your help raising $500 to cover the cost of my tuition. Any dollar I raise over that amount will be used to build my product for my business.

The Impact: You Cover My Cost & Become a Supporter of My Business

Do you believe in me? I promise I won’t let you down.

Please consider contributing to cover my tuition! Thank you so very much for believing in me.
