DACA's Impact:
From temporary relief from deportation to the work force, DACA has impacted 800,000 young adults across the country. According to American Progress DACA recipients could have contributed a revenue of "$460.3 billion to the U.S. gross domestic product over the next decade." We are here to contribute to the American society.

October 5th is the deadline to renew  DACA  that expires between the months of September 2017 to March 2018. Renewing would give them another two years of protection. If they do not renew on time it would leave the DACAmented unprotected from deportation. It cost $495 dollars to renew DACA + $500 if you need an attorney. Immigrant Alliance Ohio is a support group who is hosting a workshop with attorneys to aid DACAmented people with financial need/renewal need.

IAO is DACA recipient led.  We are working with existing organizations and communities. This is our first short term goal. We want to be transparent as possible. This is a list of where the money will go:

-$495 to renew an application... We are trying to help at least 40 people with financial need. We will first provide a scholarship, but if they do not get the scholarship we want to be able to cover the cost of their renewal fee.
- Location donation fee
- Printing material (paper, toner, copier rental)
- Printing of flyers and info sheet to distribute churches, stores, schools ect.,
- Fees associated with Organization
- Food and drinks for volunteers on the day of the event and on training day
- All remaining money will go towards ongoing actions lead by DACA Organizers here in Central Ohio.
- For upcoming events ( go to Immigrant Alliance Ohio ).
- Any questions you can email ([email redacted])

DACA: A Personal Story
I was brought to the United States when I was 3 years old. I started preschool at a Headstart in Columbus, Ohio. I graduated from Whetstone High School and went to career center for my last two years in high school. In middle school I saw my older sister try to go to college but was rejected because of her immigrant status. I believed that the same would happen to me. I grew up believing I did not have a chance to go to college. In 2012,  I was a Sophmore in high school when DACA was introduced. My grades skyrocketed because I was given an opportunity to succeed like the rest of my peers. I now want to be able to keep that DREAM and support the next generation of DREAMERS. Thank you for your time and please email me if you have any other questions.
