In Loving Memory of Deborah Ann Lamb
On October 18, 2016 our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daugher-in- law and dear friend, Deborah Ann Lamb passed away in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital after courageously fighting an aggressive cancer for just over four months. Her family, friends, and caring doctors and nurses were at her side as she transcended this life. Our family is eternally grateful to the compassionate doctors, nurses, technicians, and medical staff at Georgetown who loved and cared for her during her difficult health crisis and suffering. She touched the hearts of many and made many new friends in the final months of her life.
We met many families in the Intensive Care Unit waiting room who were supporting their gravely ill loved ones and suffering by their side as we were doing. Many ended up at Georgetown from a considerable distance because the local community hospitals in their hometowns could not provide the life-saving treatment that was available at Georgetown. This waiting area is not only where people sit, wait, worry and pray, but also where many sleep. To honor Debbie’s selfless giving spirit, and in lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to upgrade the ICU family waiting room to help comfort those families and friends supporting their loved ones in critical condition.
This area will be dedicated to Deborah. Throughout Deborah's life, she always wanted to make everyone else more comfortable and their lives happier. We are grateful to everyone for honoring her life with us.
The family will be holding a private memorial service on November 6, 2016.
