In memory of Donna Platt

On May 16th, 2019, my former friend and colleague, Donna Platt, passed away from complications due to a brain aneurysm. Donna was 44 years old and had two wonderful children, Ashton and Jordon and her husband Heath. I had worked with Donna at two different companies and even though we did not work together anymore, we would meet for lunch 3-4 time a year and catch up. She was an amazing woman and someone fiercely dedicated to her family, friends, career and also loved the beach in Hawaii. More importantly she lived her life to the fullest and always had a smile to share.
On June 22, I will be participating in a bike race across the state of MI - the MI Coast to Coast. This is a gravel road race of over 200 miles through the middle of the state. I am always interesting to see how far I can push myself and this race appealed to me for the pure challenge of it. I am a firm believer in living life every day as best as you can and will be inspired by Donna's love of life and living life to the fullest. While a friend or love one's death is always devastating, losing someone so unexpectedly is something very difficult to comprehend. While I can offer little comfort to her family during this time, I feel I am able to contribute by using this race to raise money for her children. Donna's husband Heath has started a fund for the kid's education and all dollars raised here will be provided to Heath to put into Ashton and Jordon's college fund. Thank you for taking the time to read this story and thank you in advance for your support.
