In memory of lovely Gordon
Donation protected
Money will go to the British Music Archive, which is preserving music history, including Gordon's.
This campaign is for friends, family and fans of Gordon Pollitt, who left his body in October 2018 after being with us for 53 years. He leaves behind a wife and four children and many more people who will miss the way the room swells when he sings, will miss his wisdom and sweetness. We are grateful that over the years he has made a great deal of recordings for us to enjoy and hopefully take comfort in being reminded of his persevering presence, as it is reflected in all of us that know him.
The British Music Archive was set up by friends of ours; it exists as a historical and cultural library of Britain's lost musical heritage.
The purpose of the British Music Archive is to preserve and restore commercially unreleased and culturally significant recorded music, revealing its impact and real legacy in the wider aspects of popular culture.
It is a voluntary, non-profit organisation committed to salvaging, restoring and preserving not-to-be forgotten artifacts of contemporary British history.
The British Music Archive will collect and preserve (with the permission of Gord's various bands and family), his recordings; which we will then be able to access through their website.

“When he sang… when he was really singing, it was like you could feel the sun on your face, like he opened up a portal to the universe”
