Donate to Bikes Together in Honor of Stolen Bikes
Tax deductible
Denver is the unfortunate target of high amounts of bicycle theft. I recently felt the sting of bicycle theft when both of my bicycles were stolen from my apartment garage. One of the bikes is the trusty steed you see above that I rode across America two years ago with a nonprofit organization called Bike & Build . This bike was named in honor of my grandfather who passed away back in 2014 and never got to see me do this trip but I know was with me the whole time on that bike.
While I know that I am most likely never going to see this bicycle again, and this is very upsetting to me, I want some good to come out of this situation. I am just one of countless people who has had their bike stolen in Denver or any city for that matter. Bikes are more than just a material possession - they are a means of transportation for so many, as well as a way of life. I want to honor all of those loved bicycles that have been taken from us.
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money for Bikes Together (Park Hill Bike Depot), and any donation will help make an impact. Bikes Together's mission is to increase use of and access to bicycles, promote safe and bicycle-friendly environments, and advocate for policies that promote bicycle access and use.
Your donation matters! Bikes Together is in the heart of their busy season. The shops are bustling, the mechanics are turning around bikes quickly, and Bike Camps are in full swing. That’s how they like it, but the high demand can also be difficult to meet. That’s why they need your help today!
Here’s what your donation means:
$50 pays for a child to get a free bike, helmet, lock, lights, and training.
$100 funds an afternoon of Fix-Your-Bike open workshop and helps 18 people keep their bikes rolling.
$500 pays for an off-site partner program, getting bikes directly into communities that need them
$1000 supports an entire Earn-A-Bike graduation, including a fully refurbished bike, u-lock, light, and helmet, for up to 15 participants.
All Donations are Tax Deductible.
Thank you for your past, present, and future support of Bikes Together!
