Injured Everett Firefighters Fund

Donation protected
On Friday, July 13, 2018, two of our Everett Firefighters were burned attempting to rescue a woman trapped on the second floor as fire burned in the basement of a home on Morris Street.

Scott Dalrymple, a 24 year firefighter and Joshua Doyon, a 4 year firefighter from Ladder 2 were the first  firefighters to arrive on scene along with Engine 3, Engine 2 and Car 2.

They scaled the stairs, attempting to search the second floor for the trapped victim, but the heat and flames were so intense that Acting Lieutenant Dalrymple and Firefighter Doyon had to turn back.

As they attempted to descend the stairwell from the second floor, the hallway became engulfed in flames, igniting both firefighters and their protective firefighting gear.

Doyon, 27, suffered 2nd degree burns to his ears and neck and was treated and released that night, while Dalrymple, 48, suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his ears, neck, hands and abdomen and still remains in the hospital and has had multiple surgeries.

Both firefighters are proud Military Veterans and going through the healing process, hoping to return to work. Firefighter Dalrymple also created an Everett Fire Department calendar, five years ago, featuring the men and women of the EFD and raises thousands of dollars each year for the Everett Fire Victims Fund, which provides residents with the support they need after they have been displaced from a fire.

Please consider donating via this page to benefit both the Dalrymple and Doyon Families. Please make any checks payable to "IAFF Local 143 Firefighters Support Fund" and mail them to:
