Iris Anne Hager’s Leukemia Fund
On Wednesday September 23, 2020, Iris went to her doctor to get some excessive bruising looked at. After some blood work her doctor noticed her hemoglobin and platelets her were abnormally low.
Immediately Iris and Kelly packed up and went to The University of Maryland Medical Center for a blood transfusion.
After sitting in the emergency room Iris was admitted at 1:30AM to further investigate her low platelet and hemoglobin count.
Thursday morning, opened a new bag of troubles. After ruling out genetic blood disorders and anemia they moved on to further investigate what could be causing these symptoms.
Unfortunately, this meant Iris would have to have a spinal tap and bone marrow biopsy
Our hearts burst with worry and fear.
Then, our worst fears were confirmed when Iris Anne Hager, our brave, smart, wonderful girl was diagnosed with Leukemia.
After blood transfusions, more tests, and countless doctors, by Friday we knew the monster to battle was CNS1 Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia or A.L.L.
Which is why we are asking for help.
With trips across the Bay Bridge for chemotherapy twice a week, other treatments, medical bills, prescriptions and daily expenses, Iris is looking at a long battle ahead and every little bit helps.
