Combatting Sexual Assault #ItsOnUs
Tax deductible
It's 2017 and still 1 in 5 women and 1 in 16 men will experience some form of sexual assault while at college.
Since 2014, the It's On Us campaign has worked with over over 500 universities to prevent sexual assault on college campuses through defining consent, promoting bystander intervention, and supporting survivors, like Sam:
"My name is Sam and I want to share my It’s On Us journey with you in the hopes that together we can continue to dedicate ourselves to creating environments where sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported. I am a sexual assault survivor.
After these assaults I felt like my entire world was shaped through culture of rape on campus, a culture that needed to change. For the past two years I have worked as a student leader with the national It’s On Us campaign. This campaign gave me a voice and provided me with a platform to speak out against sexual violence on campus.
Never did I think a music major could influence an entire campus let alone change an entire culture. Yet through hundreds of events, speaking engagements, and workshops I have seen firsthand that culture change is possible on college campuses no matter what your major is or where you fit into campus culture. We all have a responsibility to end rape culture in our communities. It’s On Us continues to give me hope for a future without sexual violence. Together we can empower the next generation of student leaders and change the culture."
Show your support for Title IX protections and sexual assault prevention on college campuses by donating to the It's On Us initiative today or joining the over 400,000 students, teachers, allies and friends who have taken the pledge.
