Save the Deathmobile!

If you've ever seen the movie Animal House, then you know what the Deathmobile is.  What you may not know is that the famous parade scene at the end of the movie was filmed on Main Street in the historic downtown of Cottage Grove, Oregon.  For many years, our beloved Deathmobile has belonged to a small group of private owners who would occasionally make arrangements for public appearances at special events.  Well, the group of owners has decided it's time to sell the Deathmobile and
I want to ensure that this iconic piece of Cottage Grove's Hollywood history remains here for generations to come.  

The Cottage Grove Chamber of Commerce can purchase the vehicle and has made arrangements for proper storage and how it can be displayed at more public events throughout the year.  We have little time and no pre-planned budget to make this happen so we are looking for help from our Animal House loving citizens.  If we cannot purchase it by the end of December, it will be loaded on a truck and moved to Arizona with one of the owners and it will become cost prohibitive for us to ever get the car back.  Please help us keep the Deathmobile in Cottage Grove so it can be enjoyed by the community for years to come!
