Remember Officer Bryan Woodie

Donation protected
I'll start by telling you a bit about my dad. Bryan Woodie has been in Law Enforcement for over 30 years. He spent 29 of those years with the Fayette County Sheriff's Dept. and a little over 2 I believe with The City of McDonough Police Dept. His passion in life has always been in Law Enforcement. He has dedicated his life, as many officers have, to protecting and serving his community. As long as I have been alive, it's all I’ve ever known.  All of my life, I have always boasted about how proud I was of what he did.  He worked hard and made a successful and rewarding career out of it. He has spent the better part of his life helping others and I know if he had it his way, he'd continue until he was 100.

Fast forward to May of 2014 (I believe- Bear with me if I’m off with dates) he started developing flu-like symptoms. He was so sick for weeks. After many tests and such, they discovered that he had developed a Staph blood infection that settled in his heart. The infection destroyed one of his valves and needed to be replaced. As sick as he was, they couldn't do surgery right away and he was sent home with 6 weeks worth of IV antibiotics. On 8-11-14 he had his valve replaced successfully. Finally he was able to go back to work (it drove him crazy not being able to work).  On November 14th 2015, Dad and JoAnn went on vacation in Washington. He had the flu on the way up and just stayed sick the entire trip. As of now, Dad is at Piedmont Atlanta. Doctors have said that he has another infection in his heart which is not good. The infection is on 2 of his valves and he has also developed an abscess in his heart. He needs surgery, but is not stable enough to receive it.

As hard as it is to ask, and as sickening as it is to even be in this situation; the man who has dedicated his life to helping others, needs our help. Even with the best health insurance, deductibles need to be met. The deductible for December is $6,000. The deductibles start over in January and are going to reset at $6,500.

I (Cori) am trying to help my dad and stepmother any way I can. If you can donate anything towards his insurance deductibles, no matter how small; even if all you can offer is prayers, please do. The last thing JoAnn or my dad need to be focusing on is finances.  Anything helps. As many of you know, especially if you know him or JoAnn, you know how hard it is to even start this account.

As always.... Please continue to PRAY that he can beat this. He has his Devoted Wife, His Daughter, Son-In-Law and precious Granddaughters who still need him.
