Gifts for the Homeless
Gifts for the Homeless Inc provides survival kits to homeless shelters across the downtown core of Toronto. The bags get delivered 2 weeks prior to December 25 and are handed out on Christmas Day to the clients.
The survival bags contain the following items, a hygiene kit including, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a bar of soap, deodorant, hygiene wipes, pads/tampons for women, and shaver kits for men. As well as, socks, hats, gloves, scarves, sweaters, and underwear. We also collect non-perishable food items. The survival bags help the shelters with providing them resources people are not easily accessed to when living on the streets. The survival kits promote proper hygiene, also helping people stay warm during the winter months.
We donate to the following shelters this year; Mary’s Place, Eva’s Place, Salvation Army – Florence House, All Saint’s, Central Neighborhood Group, Yonge Street Mission, and Redeemer Drop-in Program.
ALL proceeds go directly in making./purchasing items for the bags. This is not-for-profit is completely volunteer based.
