A Secure Home for Ani Sangye
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Ani Sangye. I'm a Buddhist nun and former chiropractor, living with Lotus and Patch (my dogs) and Ketchup (my cockatiel) in Maryland.
In 2006, I was diagnosed with Wegener's Granulomatosis--a rare, incurable and potentially life-threatening autoimmune disease. Due to the disease, treatment and numerous severe complications, I'm immune-compromised and live with pain, fatigue and weakness, which have prevented me from returning to work as a chiropractor. I rely on Social Security Disability to get by.
Over the past 10 years, finding affordable, healthy housing that accommodates my disabilities has been an ongoing challenge and has resulted in me living in mold-filled basements and moving frequently as rents increased. Living with roommates places me at risk for infection; a simple cold can easily become life-threatening. Being unable to afford housing on my own and unable to live with roomates has left me in a serious predicament: I'm currently homeless.
Happily, I have a friend who is willing to sell me her RV. The RV would allow me and my animal family to live in a healthy, protected environment close to my Buddhist temple. We could finally have a permanent home! This gently used, well-maintained RV costs $15,200. I'm raising an additional $1,000 for tax/license fees.
I hope you will help me purchase our new home. I'm deeply grateful for any donation you can make!
