Jacari Long Funeral and Memorial
Donation protected
My heart is broken as I am writing this... I am just shattered to pieces to even have to ask for support of funds to help with the burial of my 6 month old grandson. All funding will go towards his funeral, memorial/ burial expenses and anything left over will go to counseling for the parents as they are heavily grieving as we all are. The family truly appreciates everyone’s support at this time.
6 Month old Jacari Long killed by babysitter’s pit bull
Yesterday on March 5, 2019, My 6 month-old grandson was killed on Tuesday afternoon after being attacked by a dog that belonged to his babysitter.
Jacari Long, of Lexington, passed away from injuries sustained after a boxer/pit bull mix attacked him in his babysitter’s living room while the dog’s owner was outside in the driveway.
The babysitter told police that she had left the child in the living room of her home with her mother while she went out to the driveway to clean out the backseat of her car. While making room in the car for the child, she heard her mother scream from inside and found the dog attacking the child when she entered the room. At around 2:30 p.m., police were notified of the attack and called to the scene.
Jacari was taken to Novent Health hospital then airlifted to a Trauma Center Hospital in Winston Salem but due to the extent of the injuries he was pronounced deceased.
Animal Control has taken the dog and the Police department is actively investigating this case.
Our family would appreciate any support given this go fund me at this time... this is such a devastating and sudden tragedy to our family. Any amount is not too small.
We thank you and appreciate all the prayers and support that is being given at this time.
Thank you,
From the Long and Brown Family
