Jackie Robert's Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Jackie has been a nurse for 31 years in the Windsor-Essex community and most of those years have been in palliative care. In December 2016, at the age of 53, Jackie was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer that had spread to her liver and lungs. Over the last 8 months, she has undergone surgery and over 15 rounds of chemotherapy. The next step in her treatment is radioembolization
(Y-90 therapy). Radioembolization is a procedure that combines embolization and radiation therapy to treat liver cancer. Radioactive isotope Y-90 beads are placed inside the blood vessels which block the supply of blood to the cancer cells while sparing normal tissue. Unfortunately, the Y-90 therapy is not covered and will cost $25,000 per treatment and Jackie may require two treatments.
Jackie has given so much to the community. Let’s give back to her!
Please join us in helping Jackie and her family in her fight against cancer.
