Jacksen's Fight

Donation protected
We wanted to let everyone know that about a week ago, the Bates Family received news that caused their whole lives to change dramatically.  Jacksen was home on Spring Break and had stomach pain.  His parents took him to the doctor, where he was sent for emergency surgery due to a blockage of his small intestine- and the doctors discovered a mass.  Later that week, the mass was diagnosed as Burkitt's Lymphoma, and they were faced with the options ahead for Jacksen - treatments that wil be life changing.  His chemo treatments could be three to six months long.  He will be in and out of the hospital, and has taken a hardship withdrawal from Western Washington University for the remainder of this school year.
While Burkitt's Lymphoma has highly treatable outcomes, the Bates know that the road ahead may be long, and the costs may be high.  If you are interested in supporting their family, you could consider making a monetary donation.  While they do have medical insurance in place, the out-of-pocket and deductible costs will be high, and Jeff and Nicole will both have to miss work in order to support Jacksen throughout his treatments.
We will continue to keep everyone updated via this page as his journey contniues - please pray for a successful outcome and Jacksen's full recovery!
