"HELP JIM'S BATTLE, PLEASE DONT IGNORE"

My name is Betty Emery. My story started 17 years ago when I met my high school sweetheart, James. We are now married and have two amazing children. We have always lived a simple, self-sufficient lifestyle and are grateful for all the blessings we have received.
Our lives changed in July of 2012 when my husband was hit in the head by a piece of gutter equipment that malfunctioned. This caused him to have seizures and in August of 2013 we learned that he needed to have brain surgery to remove what was thought to be a brain tumor. Those are words no one wants to hear about their loved one. James had the surgery in October 2013, and to our familys relief, the mass was not cancerous but due to the trauma caused by the head injury. However, the surgery caused scar tissue damage which resulted in short term memory loss, motor and speech impairment.
James was a roofer/gutter installer, the seizures and loss of motor skills have taken him out of work for at least a year and there is potential that he will never be able to go back to work. This is concerning because immediately prior to the news that James needed brain surgery, we bought our first home.
Initially we were given help with the mortgage, but that help is no longer available and we are now facing the potential of losing our home.
Therefore, as much as it pains me and my husband to ask, we desperately need your help. Our kids need some stability and normalcy that we have no way of providing right now.
I currently work two small part time jobs to even help make ends meet. James gets no temporary disability checks any longer and we are currently fighting for workers comp and ssd, so now my income alone doesn't cover the mortgage let alone all the other normal household expenses. Up until the brain surgery, James did not have medical insurance so we also have some prior medical expenses that we are struggling to pay.
I am asking that you consider helping us through this difficult time. Whatever you can give, big or small will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your consideration!
