Jasmine Dove Brain Injury Recovery
Donation protected
In 2005, at the age of 15, Jasmine Dove suffered a terrible accident that left her with a damaged liver, broken leg and a severe head injury. So severe that they preformed emergency surgery and removed both sides of her skull to reduce the swelling and save her life. She woke from her coma about two weeks later and the long process of learning to swallow, eat and talk again began.
Our joy at her miraculous recovery was short lived when only a few weeks after her skull was replaced, she ended up back in the hospital with a post surgery infection and her skull removed again. Multiple attempts were made to replace it, all ending in infection and a total of 11 cranial surgeries.
Fast forwarding to the present, untreated neurological problems have necessitated an emergency move to Oahu where she can receive the care and therapy she needs.
Funds will be needed for housing, shipping container, airfare, therapies not covered by her medical insurance and basic living expenses as I will be unable to work while helping her handle all her appointments.
Right now, we’re looking at her being released from the hospital by March 15th so, I need to be moved from Kauai to Oahu before then.
We need a 2 bedroom with it’s own washer and dryer, all utilities included, WiFi, clean, furnished, in Kailua and close to transportation. They run around $2500 to $3000+ in the area and will need first and last for a move in plus several months rent until I can support us again.
