Kylo Ren Fan Film Production

He is the newest terrifying villain to grace the Star Wars saga. Complex, tortured, deadly, powerful, compelling... Kylo Ren is the new favorite character of two dedicated fans, Jonathan Rogers and Deirdre Carolyn. Deirdre works as a scientific researcher, but is looking to move into something closer to her heart, like writing and editing. And Jonathan is already an aspiring filmmaker, with a strong YouTube presence thanks to his ongoing web series The Indiana Jones Interrogations.

These two budding creative minds are determined to make a compelling and competitive entry for the Star Wars Fan Film Awards 2016, now open to submissions. The story they want to tell is a prequel to The Force Awakens, focusing on a private quest of Kylo Ren's, to seek council from a legendary figure strong with the Force that may be able to tell him his destiny. And all in less than five minutes, as required by the contest guidelines. And to pull this off, they will need to have it in the can by April 24th, the last day for submissions.

Starring in this short will be Jonathan as Kylo Ren, fully costumed and having carefully studied both the character's on-screen mannerisms and psychology. While Deirdre shall play the mysterious, as-yet-unnamed Force witch he seeks. She is a demented and unsettling creature that takes inspiration from such eccentric characters as Tia Dalma from Pirates of the Caribbean and Heath Ledger's Joker from The Dark Knight.

Will this figure strong with the Dark Side become an ally of Ren? Will Ren find the answers he seeks about his ultimate fate? Help Jonathan and Deirdre pay for the resources they need to get the film completed in time, and you will not only learn these answers, but also be rewarded for your kind support.

Here is what we really need to be able to get:

* A high-quality Kylo Ren costume. Cost: $199.99

* A ghoul costume for the witch character. Cost: $44.39
