VT Senior Design Sine Beam Purchase

We are Virginia Tech's Senior Design Team #50 for Mechanical Engineering.   Our team is designing a unique bumper for semitrailer use that would prevent underride (decapitation) when a car impacts the rear of the trailer.

We're trying to raise money to pay back Virginia Tech for purchasing our sine beams, the unique feature of our design.   Sine beams absorb large amounts of energy over a known distance.  Sine beams, however, are rare, so we had ours custom made.  Customization of metal proved expensive and has eaten our budget; we need 300  dollars to payback VT.
