Jefferson's Ecuador Service Trip

Help an amazing Jefferson Trojan to get to Ecuador this spring break! From March 28 through April 5, over a dozen high-achieving students aim to travel to Ecuador to engage in a 9-day journey of cultural discovery and community service.  Your tax-deductible contribution to Jefferson Academy's (JA) PTA can help make this trip a reality.

The trip will expose students to the rich history, culture, and traditions of Ecuador.  Jefferson students will also learn the meaning of international service as they volunteer in an Amazonian community on a development project.  The end result:  students will develop important leadership skills; expand their cultural frontiers; and deepen their capacities to have empathy across lines of racial and cultural difference.

We need your help to make this life changing experience possible.  The cost per student is over $3,000.  The staff and students at Jefferson are doing everything possible to make the trip affordable – including spending $10,000 out of the school's budget towards the trip cost – but we still must raise an additional $16,000 by February 26 to fund every deserving student.   

We can do this with your help.  Every gift – no matter how small or how large – will get us closer to our goal.  A gift of $500 will pay for one round trip airfare for a deserving student.  A gift of $250 will pay students' ground transportation within Ecuador.  A gift of $100 pays for a student's room and board for 1 day.  And a gift of $50 pays for 1 day's worth of services from an experienced guide who will ensure that our kids have a rich, educational, and safe trip.
