Jeff Knorr Memorial Scholarship

Asheville lost one of it's brightest lights this month with the passing of Jeff Knorr, a friend, mentor, and band mate to many near and far. In honor of his memory, we are raising money to create a scholarship in his name to cover expenses for summer programming at his Alma Mater, Berklee College of Music. The money raised will go to funding three summer programs in 2018.

Here's an excerpt from a post from one of Jeff's dear friends, Josh Blake. 


"You gave us all so much, so much energy, so much love, and that energy will continue to create ever expanding ripples through all of us that you touched. All the heart and sweat you put into the music, we could feel it Jefe. You lifted us and carried us, and the crowds in front of us, time and time again. You were a leader without having to lead, an orator without having to speak, and mentor to us all without needing or seeking the title. You touched so many thousands of people with your spirit man, and for that we are blessed. Plus Slo Gold…what a brilliant record man. It is a master work in my opinion, and captures you so perfectly in my mind. Thank you for leaving us with that, brother. You could have been anything, but to this tightly knit, and beautiful supportive music community, you will always be one of the brightest lights we have known, and we can all be eternally grateful for what you have given to us all. All of your heart, mind, body and soul. Thank you so much Big Chief, for being one of my biggest and most direct influences, for bringing life to so many peoples musical dreams, for your constant undying friendship and your inspiration, and for all that you have given to the people of this community to help it flourish and grow."
