Jeffrey's Joy for All Heroes

After the unfortunate and tragic ambush of the Dallas, TX Police Department that resulted in the death of 5 officers, my then 6 year old ( now 7) son Jeffrey became fiercely determined to make sure the police in our area know that they were loved, appreciated, safe and that they were doing a great job in the community. So it started out with cupcakes with the "Thin Blue Line" frosted on the top.  but he felt the need to do more.  so after a talk about how in the catholic faith there are patron saints for almost everything you can imagine, we settled on making St. Michael prayer cards by hand and attaching a double sided St. Michael/Guardian Angel medal with blue ribbon on it. we initially made 140 of these to give out to the departments in our county. And after 5 months, we have distributed over 120 medals and prayer cards to 19 different departments between Beaver and Allegheny counties, plus sending one to a former Vanport,PA officer and 6 to Dallas PD (5 in memory of the fallen officers and one in honor of future generations of officers). Now we are hoping be sending them to each department that lost an officer or K9 in the year 2016 ( using information from the ODMP, officer down memorial page) and possibly more years prior. It is our wish and fierce determination to make sure every officer knows we see them and we have their "6".  With the donations we recieve, we will be buying padded envelopes, paying postage, blank cards/card stock, regular envelopes, printer ink, other office supplies, prayer cards and more St Michael medals. Throughout our journey, we have bonded with many officers and departments, including a Pittsburgh station who were also kind enough to visit him while he was in the hospital suffering from an episode of Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome, a rare and very debilitaing condition.  We are hoping to raise the funds by end of January 2017 and would be so very appreciative for any help you can muster up to support a little boy's dream to help his "superheroes" as they have stood by him.... Help us reach our goal of honoring all of the fallen officers!
