Jeff's Accessible Home Modification
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
Three years ago my son Jeff was in a severe bicycle accident leaving him quadriplegic. Grateful that, miraculously, it did not kill him and though living with severe paralysis he is still very much present and vital, thankfully. Going through this has brought incredible sadness, but today I am writing with great hopes for the future.
For him it’s a long road of personal readjustment and recovery to rebuild a life from such a catastrophic event. With intense determination he managed to re-learn some movement and has begun to re-acclimate. At this time his most important need is modification of his housing situation to make daily care and activities more accessible to him.
We have managed to get the process started; the architectural plans have been wrought, the permits have been obtained. We are fortunate to have found a local builder that understands our situation and is empathetic to the cause. While he’s been generously flexible regarding payment of his fees, the cost of materials and subcontractors must be met for progress to be made.
Upon learning Jeff’s story, friends inquired about how they could help. Their earnest offers were so touching, and it was their continued interest that sparked this fundraiser. We hope to raise enough, quickly, so construction is not stifled. To make it as simple and easy as possible we’ve established this GoFundMe account so anyone who wishes to assist can do so, conveniently. Your consideration is warmly appreciated - and please feel free to share this among friends, family and anyone whom you feel could help us reach our goal. The fund will be solely and entirely used to modify his home in order that he may gain a tiny bit of ease and comfort in his daily life. Any amount you are willing and able to contribute will be so gratefully accepted.
Thank you so much for your love and support.
