Hello, my name is Jermaine & I currently live in Orlando, Florida, warm wishes to you all and may God bless you and your families.
I’m currently seeking help for food, rent and storage due to this disability I have had now for over months and falling behind in my bills. I couldn't explain why things where happening to me. I was told I had Plantar Fasciitis at first, burning on the top of my foot to both knee swelling up & the doctors drawing fluid and not telling me what’s the matter. The visits and the Bills keep coming & I’m very been very over whelmed right now, with little to no support at all. This was my last resort, to make a go fund me as I'm unable to work right now due to this disability and myself not being able to walk.
This all started way back in June of 2016, where I was working at a bread factory, the pavement was very uneven and the concrete was rough to walk on but I was very happy to be working there learning about Scratch made breads and the methods I learned in Culinary school. Something happened a week after I got there and my foot just for no reason swelled up like a balloon, there was no explanation for this, not even from my PCF (Primary Care Physician). Very strange that this would happen to me as I’m a former Dancer & Figure Skater, I’ve gained weight over the years but nothing really effecting my health until now with absolutely no answers. I didn’t really complain at 1st, limping around the factory day to day until I started feeling very sharp pains in the back of my heel (Pulling), the next day I couldn’t put my foot on the floor, I had to call out for work and my boss didn’t like that at all (2 weeks into the job, I didn’t know what else to do because I didn’t know what was going on). I then went to the hospital twice for this issues and they told me I had Plantar Fasciitis, I still don’t know what that is but it’s extremely painful and can come back at any time. (WHY ME, I said over and over again) I’ve gained more pain on the top of my foot like a burning sensation that still hasn’t gone away, I was told it was water retention, but from what is what I asked the hospital with no reply back. I was given some water pills and sent away. That didn’t resolve the issues because I’m still have both effects still happening and I’m in a lot of pain today Jan 17, 2017. It’s unexplainable, I’m about to go back to the hospital once again.
The want to send me to a specialist to see what the issues really is (Get to the root of the issues), they don’t have any appointments until Feb 2017 (So what am I supposed to do until then, live in horror and pain.) As of today I’m walking on both crutches, both my feet are killing me and burning, I can’t work, no employers is going to hire me right now with these issues until I fix the issues and the medical bills that I have to pay along with other personal bills are still coming in. I am uninsured. Important to know going in, everything has been out of pocket. I am working on having that fixed by the end of the month but there have been snags. It is also not the only financial stressor.
My primary care doctor referred me to a specialist in which I haven’t seen yet. I have been told I might need sessions of Cortisone shots, more x-rays and maybe surgery depending on what the specialist says. Right now without doing anything else I have already racked up a $5300 bill and I still have no answers to why I can’t walk properly. Due to all that has happened and myself losing my job, is what prompted myself to doing a GoFundMe page, asking you the public for help. My biggest concerns right now is keeping my personal belongings in storage & paying as much of these medical bills as I can and along with eating & keeping a roof over my head. I plan on leaving Florida in the near future and moving back to New York City where I’m from, but before I do that, I have to fix this medical issues I’m having.
If you can find it deep in your heart to help out, I would greatly appreciate it, Again it will go towards paying off my medical bills as much as possible and my storage which is days away from being auctioned off.
