Jessica for Miss Washington USA

Hello! I am Jessica Kilpatrick and I have been chosen to represent Shoreline, WA in the upcomig Miss Washington USA pageant this November for the 2018 title!

This is like a dream come true and an incredible opportunity! I never thought in a million years I would ever participate in a pageant! I am so thankful for the never ending support I recieve from my family, friends and fans. There is no way I would ever have got to this point if it was not for the strength given to me by all of you to keep pushing and moving forward. After 4 years of working myself to death, working on myself, goals and taking every opporutnity that comes my way the hard work is finally paying off!

I truly believe that this opporutnity will help pave the way to finally move closer towards my purpose in life to inspire people!

I need YOUR help to make that happen. Please read below my stance in this competition before you decide to donate:

Like thousands of other beautiful, talented women (inside and out), we have one thing in common. We all make mistakes and we are all human. I believe we are not defined by the life we were given but by the decisions we make within that lifetime. Everyone has overcome life challenges that make us who we are today.

Before I share my background with you, know that I would NEVER change any of my past.  I did not have the easiest upbringing, as I am sure many can relate.  From being adopted when I was 2 by my grandparents, being the oldest of half brothers and sisters scattered all over, and having identity issues growing up because I never learned how to be myself or who I was.

I fully embrace each moment of each present day. Right now! I can relate to more people than most and I am stronger inside because of it. After all of that and more, I still have a deep, ongoing love for people. My grandma used to say I only see the good in others, and that used to get me in trouble at times. To become the person I am today, it has been a long, hard internal battle. I used my surroundings, role models and the art of really listening to my mistakes. Trusting my intuition. Heeding the keen voice inside my head. I have learned not to be so hard on myself, to stop standing in the way of my potential, to forgive, to love and to use myself to inspire and better those around me.

My goal? I use my life experiences and the fears I have faced and overcome to tell and show everyone that no one is alone. I felt like a nobody growing up, I had big dreams that I was afraid I would never fulfill. Dreams that seemed lifetimes away. I always knew I was meant to do something bigger than myself, something bigger than what I had been doing, so I just started to do it.

It is my goal in life to show people that it is okay, it will be okay, and you can do it. YOU can really do and achieve whatever you want! Now, it's not easy, but the people who try differentiate themselves from the people who don't succeed. Every day we face challenges of social norms, being told how to act, what is accepted, what is wrong and right? I meet and have met so many people with out of this world potential and they just need a push to see it in themselves. To be who you are meant to be, the world will thank you and appreciate you a lot more. It’s all about being who you truly are, not who people think you are. I was a lost, shy, intimated girl growing up, I didn’t know what or who to believe, where to go. I stand here grateful, telling  you I had the help of family and friends to pull me out of that and ever since I have been running wild getting to know myself better  and loving who I am becoming. Becoming the role model I wish I had growing up, and realizing I was my own role model all along.

Every day I am still learning who I am and how I can improve. What can I learn? What do I want to accomplish? Self-improvement is a never ending journey. I want to teach those willing to listen to never let an opportunity that comes by escape, to grab it with everything you have and make it into your own. This energy that burns inside me every day only grows brighter when I am able to bring that out in those around me. I believe I would be an amazing titleholder because from starting in ashes and having the loving help of my family, friends, and myself, I am here to ignite the fire in every single person I come across and I will do it. Life is a beautiful thing to not take advantage of what it has to offer.

I ask you to please help and support me in my journey to have the chance to show people the best me that I can be and help to change the world for the better. I am required to raise $1000 as soon as possible through donations, sponsorships, ads, etc. to cover my costs for the pageant. I am learning things that matter in life are not cheap!! Any little bit helps from $1-$100. I cannot do this alone, so let's do this together and help change the world!

Love,

Jessica Kilpatrick
