Jill McCain Mulberry Fire

Hello, my name is Lucas McCain, Jill McCain, my mom, and widow of Charles R McCain (1948-2010) lost her home in the Mulberry Fire in Vail on May 6th, 2017. The house was hand-built by her and Charles in the early 1980's and was where they raised my sisters and I.  Jill is a painter, mother, grandmother, businesswoman, and kind soul. She lost all of her clothes, art supplies, and her very place of refuge in the fire. The wildfire was so hot and moved so quickly that there was nothing to be done.  We have been thankful that she wasn't home at the time, but we are devastated by this loss.

Mom lost everything including her beloved cats. Going up to the house we found that it had burned so completely, you can't even tell where the rooms were. She has no clothes, all of her paperwork and records are gone. All of our family pictures, my dad's old trophies and tons of other, irreplaceable stuff. She is very worried about seeming to "beg" for money and I want to make it clear that this is solely a way for people to help if they wish. She needs to get new clothes, toiletries etc. She's staying with my sister Amy right now so that's taken care of. Also, anyone willing and able to help clean the site (dates and times tbd) please contact me.
