Jill Knapp Neurosurgery-Moya Moya
Donation protected
Jill Knapp needs your immediate help with medical expenses for a life saving surgery to treat her recent diagnoses of Moya Moya Disease.
All funds that are raised will go directly to Jill to help towards her medical, living and transportation costs.
After being diagnosed with a seizure disorder in 2008 and 3 Chronic strokes since February 2018, Jill was diagnosed with Moya Moya Disease. This rare disease causes progressive narrowing of the internal carotid arteries in the brain, for which there is no cure. Jill's only fighting chance is to have neurosurgery to redirect an artery to resupply areas of her brain that aren't getting enough blood. Jill will be undergoing neurosurgery on April 18th, 2018 with a second surgery on April 25th on the second affected portion of her brain. As a result of doctors in the St. Louis not being advanced in training in this disease, Jill will need to travel to California to see a leading neurosurgeon at Stanford University Medical Center and stay for a minimum of 3 weeks.
Jill Knapp, age 31, is a single mother of daughter, Evie now 4 years old. The girls live outside of St. Louis, MO, in a small town named Eureka. Jill currently works as an Estetician at a nearby clinic. Loving to give back to her community, Jill coaches a Middle School age girls lacrosse team.
The recent diagnosis of Moya Moya disease and the nearing surgery will be a heavy financial burden for this small family. Jill is fiercely independent and it is a struggle for her to ask for assistance of any kind. However, Jill going back to work too soon after her Neurosurgery may cause the healing to stop and strokes to happen again. Jill needs to be able to take time off work to recover without the financial burden of being able to pay for her home loan, childcare expenses, food, etc. Any assistance you are willing to provide will help Jill not only take care of her daughter Evie, but focus on her recovery in this scary journey.
