Jim's Bladder Cancer Surgery

I am making this GoFundMe on behalf of my father Jimmy Jefferis. My dad has suffered from bladder tumors for the last 15 years. Fortunately each time the tumors were benign and the simple removal of them was all that was needed. He had a surgery in June of this year which we all believed was to simply remove more benign tumors. Much to our shock and sadness it turned out that these tumors were not benign. These tumors are a form of aggressive bladder cancer that have moved into the muscles of the bladder wall. Simply removing the tumors is not an option. My father was given three options. Option #1 is that if he has no form of treatment or surgery he has a 5 % chance of living 6 months to 1 year. Option #2 is if he has no surgery but receives chemo he has a 10% chance of living a short time. Option #3 is that if he has the surgery to remove his bladder and reconstruct a bladder on the outside of his body he has a 75% chance of living another 5 to 10 years. My father decide that option 3 gave him the best odds. He went to the hospital for his surgery and received the news that his insurance company had denied approval for his surgery. Now the hospital is helping him attempt to gain approval from the insurance company. It is a race against time as the form of cancer he his aggressive. Myself and my siblings do not wish to see our parents struggle with these medical expenses, or worse to watch our father lose his life over finances. So this GoFundMe has been created to ask for help to assist my father with his medical expenses. If you can donate please do, if you cannot please send your prayers. Mom and dad would never ask anyone for anything, it is just not in their nature. However, they are the kind of people that help others when they can.
